This is my first attempt at making a trivet using the CNC router. It was cut from a single piece of sapele using a 1/4" straight bit for the slots and a 90 degree V bit for the edge details. I sealed it with some thinned "salad bowl" finish to prevent creating a coating that might be damaged by hot pots.
